Whether using passenger side control or driver side control, when we try to raise the window to the top (closed), it gets there but then suddenly lowers to half way. The passenger window lock (operated from the driver's door) is NOT on. I bought a used window motor which included the scissor lift and the window switch for the rear door.

If the front passenger’s window is equipped with the auto-up/down function, it is necessary to repeat the same initialization procedure on that window switch. If there was rain the day before and a lot of (road) spray etc, although it's unusual, it's possible that ice formed on the linkage and that can prevent the motor from running. (I agree that there should be some sign of the motor trying.) There could also be a problem with the wiper switch that's temperature sensitive.Perhaps check the connector at the module to make sure there's good contact (e.g., remove and replace the connector a few times).
