That's kinda far, but it's the only "clear out" quest I have. To become Thane in Markath, you help the 5 citizen quests, and buy a house there. Before you can do that though, you have to do the Jarl's quests, which are two I believe.. It is bugged for the majority of people. You'll have to wait for the patch.
