Litter robot replace pinch sensor.
To add, the sensor is two $.01 pieces of plated metal that get litter basically dumped on them with every cycle. So they corrode / get dirty and give tons of false pinch alerts. Sometimes the pinch alert requires a full unplug to reset. I kept finding my LR stuck upside down, leading the cats to find other places to do their messes.

2nd replacement DFI & pinch kit installed today - LR3. ~3.5 years later and just replaced the DFI & pinch kit again, first time it was a pinch sensor issue and this time it was erroneous drawer full that cleaning the sensors was not correcting. It appears the drawer full sensors have been redesigned, hopefully for better reliability.
Reinstall the fence by snapping it onto the bezel at the globe entrance. Plug the unit in and power it on. The Litter-Robot will then perform a clean cycle and return to the Home position with the blue light on. I was able to get the replacements for free (despite being outside warranty, purchased my robot in Jan 2021) but submitting a service ticket at the end of the troubleshooter (linked on my post).

Duct tape is working for now, but I'm going to try to wire the contacts to their corresponding prongs first before I attempt to short the sensor. I want to keep the night light for as long as possible. You can completely bypass (and cure) the pinch sensor issue with as little as a paperclip. All you need to do is unplug the two wire connector plugs from the aluminum pinch arms, and use the paperclip bent small enough to act as a joiner between the two connector plugs. The problem is that aluminum corrodes in the presence of ammonia. Locate the cat presence sensor under its protective cover, between the two glide buttons. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the single screw, then remove the protective cover. Carefully lift the circuit board: Gently push up from underneath the board and disconnect the wire connector from the board. Set the old board aside.
