Both companies are very proud of the bows they make. Hoyt produces compound and recurve bows while Mathews only produces compound bows. If we compare the compound bows; the featured differences are Hoyt has split limbs and hybrid cams; Mathews has solid limbs and a solo cam. The cam systemis the biggest difference.

One was a hoyt rx3 because it was a leftover and i was getting a $1500 bow for $900. That thing has a super sweet draw cycle in my opinion but i didnt shoot it against a mathews. I also want to consider the Mathews Helium, but I haven't yet been able to try out yet. I found the Z7 to be very smooth and accurate, and the Destroyer actually seemed to have a better response.
