So if the derelict in that system generates a C class upgrade module, it will always generate a C class module. The room layout does not change for the freighter in that system. It's exactly the same each time the freighter is spawned there.

Unfortunately if you want to run multiple derelicts fast, and still get the junk metal from the merchant, you will have to go from the derelict, sell immediately, then go back. It's annoying once you find a good S derelict where it barely takes you 2 minutes to jog through it, especially as you need so much stuff for your freighter.

You cannot land on THAT variant of the derelict freighter, but it should have one or two cargo pods that you can shoot. This will trigger pirates to appear.
