Fantastic professor. Took his lab and HCC did not give him the resources he needed but he made the semester amazing. Pre quizzes before labs can get you but as long as you read the manual you'll pass just fine. He actually cares about you learning the material rather than the grade. Professor Gordon is one of the best professors I've had on HCC. I took her for 1301, 1302 and 2311 since Spring 2022. Do not let all the negative comments deceive you; these are just students who were not willing to put in the work. All her classes consist of writing a big paper in small parts, but she will help you on each step of the way. Online Class: Yes. Prof. Hernandez is a gem of the math dept at HCC. He teaches systematically, is EXTREMELY clear in explaining complex ideas. I never felt lost or confused. He allows time for you to copy down what he's doing as well as think in between steps so you understand what's going on during class.

He is very engaged with the material and posts a short video lecture every week. He will make you work for your A but gives clear and constructive feedback so you can improve. Grade was primarily based off of weekly discussion posts, 4 short papers, a final research paper, midterm, and final exam. Class flew by in a breeze.
