IT seems that the orignal owner had cobra pipes put on the bike and he basically left only 1 inch of the baffle in there ( pulled it today and measured it ).Diagnose the issue using the tests in the manual. Bike is a 2003 vulcan, 800 classic. Bike would stop running while cruising along about 70, and would not start again for a few minutes. Everytime it did this was about 7-10 miles after filling up with gas, could go another mile or two, and it would stop again, and again for a third time.This is because Kawasaki went and upgraded the oil pump from plastic to metal. The problem was most common on the Vulcan 1500 Classic models, and owners opted to replace the oil pump with a third-party one.
