NinjaTrader doesn't keep the tick data 'up to date', once you download historical data it is kept on your PC in your Documents --> NinjaTrader 8 --> db folder - if you want to ensure you retrieve all available data from the historical data server than you can download a years worth of data once a year.

NinjaTrader lifetime license order flow. New to trading on ES and MES and have been practicing using simulation trading on NT8 as well as ToS. When using a bracket strategy on the dom in ToS I was profitable but since switching to NT8 sim trading using price action on a 5min chart I have not been able to create a consistent profitable strategy.
