People hype the Bergara branded barrel but they all come out of the same factory in Bergara Spain. The Optima LR is a 28" which is plenty long.As far as i Can tell the main differences are. 1) optima has 26" stainless barrel Vs wolf 24" blued. 2)thumbhole stock, i have never shot a thumbhole stock gun and am not sure if i will like it. 3)price the optima is about $90 more than the wolf however only $50 after i purchase the durasight -dead on sight that i think that i like.The Nitrofire is less expensive than the accura MR-X but a little more than the optima. Just seems like a simple easy to use system and maybe more consistent since the fire sticks are all done at the factory and should all be exactly the same weights of powder in each one. Last lear, I bought an Accura and started using 70gr (weighed) of BH209. I see a small difference but in all honesty, my Wolf with 777 is as deadly.

I've used pellets for years and I'm a "if it ain't broke don't fix it" kinda guy. Hornady 300grain XTP's in .452 absolutely knock deer down! No blood trailing required. The 240 grain work well but not like the 300's. This what all of my little circles shoot and they are all CVA's. Accura's, Optima's and a Wolf. The XTP's shoot great in all of them.

Parts of the trigger assembly are plastic. The breech plug is no where near as good as the CVA BH209 plug and seals worse that either QRBP. Upper end CVAs have adjustable triggers too. Traditions offers nothing that competes well against a Optima V2 for under $300. You get less for your money. Well that settles it!

I bought a CVA Optima many years ago. I love it. I hear the Accura is great but have never shot one. I highly recommend Blackhorn 209 powder.
