It is reminiscent of another anthology drama/horror called "Family Portraits" they are both very disturbing in their nature. "The Strange Thing" is the story about a suburban family that where the father and son share a dark secret. This movie genuinely disturbed me. I had an emotional reaction to it. I felt fear for hours after I watched it. I didn't want to be in the dark. The thing that made it so horrific was how convincing and realistic the acting was.
