Flashing d light honda odyssey.
The D light began flashing after about 30 minutes of driving. It went away after turning the van off and on. I took it to my Honda only mechanic, who said that this sometimes happens. He said he could not pull a code because it stopped flashing. The trans fluid is clean. I have done the drain and fills every 10k. The check engine light was not on.

No more flashing "D" coming back so far and it appears to be shifting fine. HondaFam83, When you get a CEL (check engine light) set by a DTC (data trouble code) you TCS (traction control system) will light, this is in the owners manual. Grey or burnt fluid is an indication of the transmission failing. My light was blinking (2002 EX). The computer code said it was a failed transmission temp sensor. When I took it to the dealer they found bad (grey and burnt) fluid, metal pieces in the pan and eventually replaced the transmission.

I should mentioned, the first time it happened, the van was sluggish, I turned it off and restarted it and it seemed better but not perfect. However, I didn't drive it last weekend and went to work Mon-Wed. with no problems. Intermittently I have a check engine light on with a flashing D, when the drive light is flashing, the engine bucks with acceleration. I had the code read at Autozone and it gave me a P0344 which indicates a failure with the cam position sensor.Raise the front of the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported. 8. Set the park brake, and block the rear wheels securely. 9. Start the engine, then shift to the D position and let the wheels spin in 4th gear for more than 5 seconds. 10.You can also pull the cover of the underhood fuse box and check the voltage at the alternator in put there. There are two large screws on the drivers side of the fuse box. That's where the alternator power comes in and then goes to the battery from there. Make sure the voltage is around 14 volts there too.
I have a 2006 Honda odyssey exl that I had the transmission rebuilt on last year. I also had a trans aux cooler added at that time. I have not even made it 20k miles out from the rebuild and recently the d has started blinking. It seems to start when I idle a while like at a drive thru.

When this happens the light will flash until the engine is shut off. If it was intermitent the flashing doesn't come back the failure was intermitent.
