This mod can help you! It will add a small room under Riften with all 24 stones. "player.additem" won't work, because the script for the quest wouldn't be activated. The entrance is clearly to see on the screenshots. After you have finished the quest, you can delete or deactivate the mod, but don't forget to leave the room first!

Either you use console command to add them on your previous save or like the trivia part said you got multiple copies of the stone from 1 stone. Stones of barenziah (probably not correct spelling) you find one gem and get it appraised by vex in the thieves guild. She tells you to catch them all. Once you do it can go in the crown of blah blah and by doing that you get a permanet perk/ buff that you find more gems in containers.
